Working at the Office of Investments provides a first-class investing education and a unique vantage point of the broader market. Given our mandate to provide long-term investment returns, we can genuinely think long-term and creatively about who we partner with, what strategies we focus on, and where we invest. As part of this process, we must take a cross-discipline approach to how we think about the world, considering history, technology, economics, politics, and global trends. Importantly, we must also be intellectually honest and know when to lean on the Penn community and each other and engage our world-class investment partners' expertise as we forecast what the market and world will look like in ten, twenty, or thirty years. The academic and collegial way we debate, discuss, and research in our office is exciting and rewarding.
